John Young Obituary

John Patrick Young of Grand Rapids, Sault Saint Marie, Flint, Florida, Arizona, and well, the world, passed away October 3rd 2021 from a heart attack. A friend to all with a big personality and a bigger smile who was always quick with a joke or a story – we still don’t know the true story of how he lost that finger – John loved life and living it. He enjoyed his community and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion Post 3 in Sault Saint Marie, the Elks, the VW club, and the Vytautas Aid Society in Grand Rapids.

We, and his many friends, are grateful for the time we had with him and we’ll miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother Clara, father Paul, and brother Jim. He is survived by his wife Mary, his daughter Emily Dilworth (Brandon), son John (Nikki Kong), step-son Andrew, step-daughter Maria, granddaughter Lucille Dilworth, and grandson Jack Dilworth. A celebration of John’s life will be held in the future, a proper celebration with laughter and love.
