Joseph A. Hikade, 66, of Comstock Park, Michigan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 11, 2025, due to a long battle with kidney disease.
Joe is pre-deceased by his parents Robert and Josephine Hikade (Gryka) and sister Susan Ledin Lachneit.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Camille Hikade (Nurski), daughters, Katy Holcombe, Dana Hikade, Trisha Hikade, six grandchildren, one great grandson, and siblings, Roberta Foreman, Marie Easterday, Margaret Purdy, Irene Driscoll, Sarah Stephan and Anthony Hikade.
Joe lived to fish and hunt with family and friends (you know who you are). He will be remembered for teaching his daughters, grandchildren, nieces and nephews to fish in the ponds at Dwight Lydell Park and local lakes. Joe was a wonderful cook and made a mean kielbasa.
Joe was known for being the best bartender at The Point, Bow Tie Tavern, The Web and other bars in the area. He would listen to the stories shared by patrons and made many life-long friends. Joe was a graduate of Comstock Park High School where he played many sports.
A special thank you to DaVita Dialysis East for the wonderful care they provided over the years.
Joe will be laid to rest at Fairplains cemetery and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
