Joy Lynn Treece, age 73, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022 with her faithful son and brother by her side. Joy was the fourth child born to Harry & Eleanor Treece on January 4th, 1949. She was her mother’s pride and JOY and had two older brothers to look after her (or pester her).
Joy was preceded in death by her parents, Harry & Eleanor Treece, sister Ellen Kay and sister-in-law Arlene Treece.
Joy battled Alzheimer’s disease bravely and will be missed by all who knew her. Joy was a tender hearted, sweet, gentle spirit with a little mischief and adventure thrown in. She loved to laugh and have a good time. Joy loved her family and friends. She loved animals, especially cats which she had rescued more than once. Joy also loved all kinds of music and played cello in school and was a talented piano player and teacher.
Joy made many dear friends during her years working as an accountant with her brother, Larry, building his business of Health Care Associates.
Joy is survived by her sons, Alan (Lisa) Rettler, Dylan Rettler, grandchildren, Treavor Raemer and Mia Rettler, brothers, Jim Treece and Larry Treece and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of Joy's life, including cupcakes and finger foods (and ranch dressing), will be held January 4th, 2023, at Sunnybrook Country Club, Grandville, MI. Visitation will be from 5-7pm with services following.
Joy's family wishes to thank the staff and friends who supported Joy and her family on her journey - Sentinel Pointe Retirement Community, Health Care Associates, Rest Haven Care Center and Spectrum Hospice. We could not have done it without you all. We appreciate you more than you know. Thank you for the work you do.
