Judith Borough Obituary

Judith Kay Borough, age 86, of Comstock Park, Michigan,

On April 6, 2026, Judy went home to be with the Lord, joyfully reunited with her heavenly family. Her strong faith carried her throughout her life and remained her foundation to the very end.

Born on December 2, 1939, to Robert and Lyda Moore, Judy was the oldest of four siblings and a natural leader, caretaker, and friend. She grew up in Grand Rapids, graduating proudly from South High School, and carried those lifelong friendships and values with her always.

On June 8, 1957, she married her soulmate, Donald Borough, beginning a beautiful partnership filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Together they raised four children: Victoria Hunt (Chris Bailey), the late Scott Borough, Lisa Cummings, and Debra Forth (Dave). Judy’s greatest joy was her family, and she embraced every moment spent with her grandchildren—Lindsay, Dustin, Greg, Sophie, Kate, CJ, Joe, Erin, and Ryan—and her many beloved great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense pride and happiness. She was also deeply loved by her sisters Sandra Austin (Dennis); Patty Moore, her brother Terry Moore (Patricia), and many nieces and nephews.

Judy had a special love for Torch Lake, where she spent summers from childhood throughout her life. Alden was truly her happy place—a place filled with sunshine, laughter, lifelong friendships, and unforgettable family gatherings. Those “up north” days were the heart of so many cherished memories and stories that will live on for generations.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Don; her son, Scott; and her great-granddaughter, Bella Hunt; and of course, her dog, Izzy. While she will be deeply missed, we find comfort and joy in imagining the beautiful reunion taking place in heaven—a celebration filled with love.

Judy’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to her caregivers, Lorie and Donyea, and to Interim Hospice for their compassionate care. Special thanks to Brent, Kim, Chaplain Micah, and Ebone for the love, comfort, and support they so generously gave. Your kindness meant more than words can express.

Judy will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her deep love for family, and the joy she brought to everyone around her. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the memories that will forever bring smiles to those who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are warmly invited to join in celebrating Judy’s beautiful life on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Resurrection Life Church in Grandville, Michigan. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel. A luncheon will follow as we continue to share memories and honor the joy she brought to so many.

Memorial contributions can be made to DeColores Ministries of Grand Rapids, PO Box 150263, Grand Rapids, MI 49515 or better yet, if you haven’t attended a DeColores weekend, contact one of us. It would be the greatest memorial you could offer.
