Karen Jean Arndt, 71 of Grand Rapids, Michigan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 30, 2020.
She was born January 19, 1949 to Fred and Hulda (Johnson) Arndt who have preceded her in death. She is survived by her spouse, Deb Sall, her brother, Gordon (Polly) Arndt, her niece Kathy (John) Sowa, nephew Russ (Shannon) Arndt, and her great nieces, nephews, several cousins whom she loved dearly. Karen had a love for life that included music, writing poetry and sports. Not only did she love watching sports, especially her Wolverines, she played softball for many years, and was very involved in bowling in the LDS Fraternal bowling league.
Karen graduated from Creston High School in 1967. She spent 2 years working for the US Navy as a civilian contractor in Washington D.C. before returning back to Michigan to work as a paralegal in the Detroit area. She finished her career working for the Red Cross teaching CPR, first aid, and babysitting classes. Karen loved serving the community through the Red Cross.
In her final years, Karen was a licensed minister and continued to serve people by phone counseling.
Karen loved people and loved to share her stories about her life and how she believed we could all make a difference. All who knew her would say she was one-of-a-kind in her generosity and kindness.
Memorial service to be held at a later time this summer.
