Obituary

Karen Hearth-Thayer, 59, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Saturday May 6, 2023. She was born in 1963 to the late Edward and Joyce Hearth. She is survived by her children, Andrew (Ashlee) Thayer, Lauren Thayer and Brooke Thayer.

Karen lived her life for family, friends, and her patients. She enjoyed activities such as cooking elaborate meals, weekend card nights, long days on the Muskegon River, perusing through craft sales, working in her garden, and snoozing through movie nights. Above all else, Karen cared for others. She was deeply passionate in her work as a Registered Nurse throughout her twenty plus years of service at Spectrum Health (Corewell Health) starting at 7 Heart and ending in the Cardio-Oncology Clinic. Her love is forever and she will be forever loved.

Her Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at Douglas Walker Park’s enclosed venue in Byron Center on June 19, 2023 from 5pm to 8pm.
