Karen Hample Obituary

Karen Lee Hample, age 75, of Grand Rapids, passed away On July 2, 2020.  She was born to Delores and Maury Hample on August 30, 1944.  

Surviving Karen is her mother, Delores Cook (Ron); brother Chris (Connie)Hample; sister Laura (Ron) McCollum; sister Debbie (Dave)Wiggans; and brother Ron Cook.
Nieces and nephews: Kim, Michelle, Chris II, Sean Kristin, Matt,  Kara, and Ryan, all of which spent much time with Aunt Karen from birth to adults. Also many great nieces and nephews who stole her heart. Also surviving, Aunt Lorna Rose, Aunt Eileen Goulooze,  and many cousins and friends that meant so much to her.

Karen graduated from Wyoming High School in 1962. She became a nurse’s aide at Blodgett Hospital, worked for Meijer in their offices, State of Michigan, Sure Transplanting and The Flat River Antique Mall. Karen enjoyed her time working at the mall and living in Lowell, to include volunteering and serving on the Lowell Showboat board, until she retired 20 years later. Karen had an amazing sense of humor and loved to sing and play the piano (self taught).

She was preceded in death by her father, Maury Hample; her grandparents, Vivi and Carl Hample and Ruth and Joseph DenHouten, her Aunt Betty and Uncle Orie; cousins Tim and John Goulooze and James Montgomery.

Per her request, she will be cremated.  A graveside service will be held at a future date.
