Kathleen Hagbom Obituary

Kathleen Marie Hagbom (Gregor) age 65, of Walker, Michigan was unexpectedly called to her heavenly home February 28, 2024 after a very rapid decline in health. Her two children, Katelyn and Andrew "AJ", were at her side.

Kathy was born May 28, 1958 to Tony and Carolyn Gregor, and lived in the Grand Rapids area for all of her life. She was the oldest of four children, Robert (Sallie), Karen (Cas), and Christine (David). The Gregor family camped often in the summer. They had a Reliant camper, and later the family bought a trailer on North Bayou Road in Ludington. Kathy loved summers with friends and family in Ludington, on Hamlin Lake and Lake Michigan.

Kathy graduated from West Catholic High School in 1976. After high school, she spent several years working in the dietary department at Saint Mary’s Hospital. She spent over thrity years working for Meijer Corporate including time in merchandising and accounts payable/vendor financing. Her last seven years were spent as a Business Manager Assistant at Acosta.

Kathy hosted the annual Sage-Halicki-Gregor Family Christmas party for many years. The family remembers those events very fondly, and sometimes it was the only time in the year that extended family would be able to see each other.

She was a very active member of the Holy Spirit Parish community, which started in her youth as a student at Holy Spirit school. She went on to teach Religious Education for twenty-five plus years, was a Eucharistic Minister, volunteered for the Parish Festival, and made appetizers for funeral luncheons. She also joined the Holy Spirit Chamber Choir as a soprano. One of her most favorite memories was her trip to Italy with the choir in 2019. This included stops in Rome, Florence, and Assisi, along with the experience of singing in St. Peter’s Basilica.

Kathy always enjoyed her girls’ nights with her friends, which included her childhood friends, former coworkers from Meijer and current coworkers at Acosta. She was the queen of selfies and always commemorated these times with many photos.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Carolyn. She is survived by her children and her siblings.
