Kathleen Moorman

Moorman, Kathleen (Kathy) Maura ended her long fight with COPD and went to be with her Lord on January 7, 2026.

Born on June 4, 1951 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Wallace and Eva Jean Moorman her father, anxious for a girl, gave her the middle name Maura as it means beloved and wished for child.

She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved little brother David VerHeul.

She is survived by her long-time life partner and best friend Ron VanderMolen, sons Scott and Steven, Son-in-Law Randy (Tara)VanderMolen.  Also surviving are grandchildren Saxston Moorman, Kierston Moorman, Payton Moorman and Sienna and Brooklyn VanderMolen.  Brothers Patrick (Susan) Moorman, Michael (Marilyn) Moorman, sister Sharon (Brian) Sheets, nephews Matthew and Mark (Brittney) Moorman as well as many dear cousins and much-loved childhood best friend June.

Kathy was a hard-working woman.  Single mom to her two sons she did all she could to give them the best life possible.

She was a fantastic seamstress, knitter and anything to do with crafts.  She spent many hours bent over her mom’s old singer sewing machine creating beautiful projects which she sold at craft shows and farmers markets in the area.

A lover of Gods beautiful world she took great joy in nature and loved all of his creations.  She had many loving cat companions and a few dogs as well.

She also was a champion for the underdog befriending anyone whom she felt needed it.  Always willing to help, donate or whatever it took to help others.

Most of all she dearly loved Ron, her two sons and her family.

Rest in Peace dear Kathy. We love you and will miss you.

A celebration of life is planned for a later date.

Instead of a donation to a charity or flowers please be extra kind to someone today and every day.  Give your smile to someone who doesn’t have one.  Do a random act of kindness. Sit and just take in Gods glorious creation.  Be nice. Kathy would really love that.
