Kathryn Elizabeth (Zimmer) Christenson

Christenson, Kathryn Elizabeth of Porter Hills Village, died on February 14, 2020. Kathryn was born on August 24 1915 in Dayton, Ohio. She was married to Clifford C Christenson. She is survived by her son James E Christenson (Constance), three grandchildren; Julia Tank (Andrew), Gahan Gordon (Stephen), and James H. Christenson, and 2 great grandchildren; Constance Gordon and James Tank. Kathryn's daughter Beth, her husband Clifford, and her brother Mike Zimmer predeceased her.

Kathryn's family moved to Grand Rapids MI at the end of the First World War. She attended Ottawa Hills High School, Grand Rapids Junior College and the University of Michigan where she resided at Martha Cook.

Catherine was a long-time supporter of Mary Free Bed Hospital, Trinity Lutheran church, and Kent Country Club.

In accordance with Kathryn’s wishes she has already been cremated. Memorial service will be held in the meeting room in Porter Hills on Saturday February 29, 2020, at 10:00 AM. In lieu of Flowers contributions should be made in her memory to the Women's Guild at Mary Free Bed Hospital
