Kenneth W. Larsen, age 84, of Rockford, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 30, surrounded by his family. Born in Morley, Ken grew up in Big Rapids and graduated from Big Rapids High School, Ferris Institute, and Grand Valley State University. As legend has it, Ken sang a solo in church that caught the ear of Linda Lea Evans, who began her pursuit of Ken, resulting in a marriage that lasted nearly 62 years. Together they raised three boys: Jeff (Kimberly), Jon (Kelly), and Greg (Lisa). Ken adored his eight grandchildren: Kevin, Benjamin, Emily, Katelyn, Brooklyn, Sophie, Julian, and Thea. His two great-granddaughters, Collins and Annie, provided Ken with still more reasons to share his love. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
There was no kinder, gentler person than Ken. He would want us all to live well, be kind to others, and love and appreciate our friends.
A celebration of Ken's life will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 13, at Park Congregational Church, 10 E. Park Place, in Grand Rapids, with visitation beginning at 9 AM, and a reception to follow. To honor Ken's life, please consider donating to the National Kidney Foundation or the Park Congregational Church Music Program.
