Kris Fisher Obituary

It is with profound sorrow that we share the news of our beloved Kris Fisher’s passing. He is survived by his loving wife Mary, son Martin, daughter Claire (Kristen), his sister Kim (Bob), his brother Kent (Willow), and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his darling dog Roxie.

Kris was a graduate of Forest Hills High School and Grand Valley State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies. He was a force of nature, our Renaissance man, fix-it whiz, motorcycle ace, and dedicated inspector at a civil engineering firm. He had a deep love for his rustic cabin in Croton Township where he found peace and joy in nature.

He never hesitated to express how he felt. He made friends with the checkout ladies and could always be counted on for a humorous quip. He would tear up at sentimental movies but he was also the scientist looking for the facts. Kris suffered from Crohn's Disease but never surrendered his quick wit and showbiz stage presence until the very end. He faced the challenge with bravery and courage.

A celebration of Kris’ extraordinary life will be held at St. Stanislaus Little Hall, 823 Michigan St. NE, Grand Rapids Michigan 49503 on March 7, 2026, from 12pm to 4pm. Let’s share a laugh, a Snickers candy bar (his favorite), and a toast.

Rest well, dear Kris. We’ll be seeing you in all the old, familiar places.
