Leona Urbane

Leona M. Urbane age 93 of Belmont, Michigan passed away peacefully on May 21, 2022.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of thirty-eight years James Urbane and her two daughters Elizabeth Bowers, and Kathleen Urbane. Leona is also preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Anna Gendrolis and her sister Arlene Teusink.

Leona is survived by three of her children. Mary (Michael) Mooney, Matthew (Jill) Urbane, Juliette Nelson and son in-law William Bowers. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way.

Leona had many joys in life. She loved her family and her pets and enjoyed spending time with them. Her favorite holiday was Halloween and every year she would dress up as something different and have the whole family over for a great meal and trick or treating. Leona enjoyed crafting. She was always working on a variety sewing projects and knitting projects, including hats, mittens and toys. Leona had a green thumb, every year she would amazing flower gardens around her home. Over the years Leona also volunteered at the children’s school and as den mother for her children’s girl scout troops and for boy scout troops. Leona will truly be missed by her family friends.

A Celebration of Life for Leona will take place on July 9, 2022 from 2pm to 4pm at the Casino Club of Grand Rapids located at 3260 Salerno Drive NE Grand Rapids Michigan 49525.
