Lois Jean Walsh, age 68, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was born April 29, 1953 to Chadwick and Florence Boak in Sparta, MI. She was born again at the age of 6 when she accepted Christ as her saviour. She graduated with honors from Kent City High School. While attending Grand Rapids Baptist College she met her beloved Robert Walsh and they were married May 31, 1975 at Northland Baptist Church in Grand Rapids. Bob and Lois started their ministry as church planters in Brazil in 1981 and spent the next 37 years as missionaries in Sao Paulo, Indaiatuba, and Mogi Mirim before retiring in 2018. She loved her family, working with children, children’s ministry, being in the nursery, and teaching Sunday school. Music in a variety of forms and being a church pianist at every church plant was a pleasure for her. She brought joy to every room she entered and made everyone she met feel loved and at ease. She was a fabulous wife, an incredible mother, loving grandmother, an amazing cook, and a blessing to everyone who got to know her.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents Chadwick George Boak and Florence Lysbeth Boak. She leaves to cherish her memory her dear husband of 46 years, Robert Daniel Walsh, their children Andrew (Fabiana), Benjamin (Chenoah), Linda (Dave), and John (Julia); her siblings Emily (Dana), John (Lynn), Mary (Steve), and Bonny (Lee); her grandchildren Ingrid, Silas, Tesia, Eric, and Shylah, (with one granddaughter on the way); mother-in-law Virginia Walsh; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends that were loved like family.
