Luis L. Arroy, 77, of Rochester Hills, MI passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2025 following complications from a lung transplant. He was born on June 19, 1948 to Esther Arroy and Ignacio Lopez.
Luis spent his career as a dedicated pipefitter for Ingersoll Milling Machine Co., where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. He was an avid collector of vinyl albums and rock memorabilia, and music was always an important part of his life.
Luis was a proud patriot who loved his country and never took the gift of freedom for granted. But above all, his greatest pride and joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. – steady, protective and full of love. After retiring in 2012, Luis found his true calling in caring for his grandchildren, affectionately running what the family called “Papa Care”. He was happiest surrounded by the people he loved most, sharing stories, laughter and music.
Luis is survived by his beloved wife, Ann (Klonicki), his children Marco (Tony), Brian, Christopher (Tarin) and Angela; and his grandchildren, Kayla, Kyra, Mateo, Charlie, Julian, Kaison and Markus. He is also survived by his longtime friend Ernie Davis, Richard Cook (The Pilot) and friend and caretaker Andrew (AJ) McKenney.
Luis was predeceased in death by his parents, brothers (Alejandro and Paul), sister (Sarita) and son Daniel.
Those who knew Luis will remember his strength, sense of humor, love for classic rock, and his deep devotion to his family. His presence filled every room, and his absence will be felt deeply.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
