Mabel Louise (Yeakey) Scott

Mabel Louise Yeakey Scott aged 88 of Grand Rapids Michigan passed away on Wednesday March 24, 2021. Mabel was the last surviving member of her family.

Mabel was preceded in death by her husband Evert Scott, daughter/son-in-law Winnie and Gary Carter, stepson Daniel Bender, stepdaughter Diane Parker and grandson Donald Scott.

Mabel is survived by her daughter Evelyn (Jon) Newton, stepson Donald (Sharon) Scott, stepdaughter Nancy (Bob) Hodge and stepdaughter in law Sally (Ted) Bender Geib. Mabel’s grandchildren include Justin (Amy) Walker, Melanie (Kris) Murrell, Sara Carter and Richard Carter. Mabel’s grandchildren also include Michal (Stephanie) Bender, Samantha Bender, David Parker, Daniel Parker, Jonathan Parker, Jenny Parker, Travis Parker, Vincent Parker, Rhonda (Curt) Webb, Howard (Tanya) Holcomb and Jason Scott. Mabel is also survived by her step grandchildren Matthias (Brianna) Newton and Sarah Newton. Mabel’s great grandchildren include Dakota Newton, Gabrielle Carter, Jett Newton, Noah Johnson, Bentley Collins, Greyson Walker, Hudson Walker and Nora Newton. Also included in Mabel’s life are two very dear sister-in law’s Shirley Yeakey and Carol Yeakey as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mabel was a homemaker that helped raise her grandchildren to be the people that they are today. Mabel was also an avid Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football fan. Mabel will be missed by all and will never be forgotten. We love her now, always have and always will.

There will be a visitation to remember Mabel, Friday April 2, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Memorial Alternatives 2432 Fuller Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505
