Maretta Roberson

In loving memory of a strong and beautiful soul. Maretta Elizabeth Roberson met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven on July 18th, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones. Maretta was born in Indiana on Sept 8, 1952 and eventually made her way to Detroit, Michigan for High School where she graduated in 1970. While living in Detroit she met her husband Alvin Roberson and had two sons whom she loved named Joshua and Christian. As a former school teacher, she inspired many to embrace their true potential and gave so many people hope by just her positivity and smile. 

Maretta was a remarkable woman who graced our lives with strength, wisdom and boundless love. She was a mom who sacrificed everything to give her sons a great life and education as a widowed parent. She was loyal, strong, educated, determined and very funny. She loved her sons but more importantly she loved Jesus and wanted her sons to walk with the Lord. 

Maretta's faith in Jesus was unwavering and truly defined her essence. Her relationship with God was one of profound devotion and trust, allowing her to weather life's storms with grace and serenity. Maretta showed us the beauty of surrendering to Jesus and her reverence for life serves as an enduring testament to the strength of her spirituality and relationship with Christ. Though our hearts ache with the void of her physical presence, we find solace in the knowledge that Maretta has found eternal peace in the embrace of her Heavenly Father. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched, the love she shared, and the profound impact she had on all who crossed her path. 

She is survived by 4 grandchildren (Gideon, Ivy, Maximus, and Jireh), 2 sons (Joshua and Christian), 2 daughters in loves (Caliyah and Amanda), and a host of family and friends that loved her dearly. She will be missed but will be seen again in heaven. Farewell to a warrior, your love will forever reside in our hearts! We love you mom!
