Margie Fuller Obituary

Margie Rae Fuller passed away May 7, 2018 in Grand Rapids. She was born April 11, 1925 in Roosevelt, Oklahoma, the daughter of Charles Allen Boone and Gladys Herrin Boone. Margie grew up in Sentinel, Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma Baptist University and Oklahoma College for Women, earning a bachelor’s degree in business.

She married Paul R. Fuller in 1946 and worked as a secretary, supporting him as he attended graduate school. After her children were born, Margie volunteered for church and civic organizations and pursued her interest in art. In Grand Rapids she developed what became a lifelong passion for metal smithing and jewelry making.  She participated for many years in the annual Artmakers sale.

Margie was a voracious reader from early childhood. As an adult she was a regular participant in literature and poetry discussion groups.

She was an active member of Fountain Street Church, where she was a founding member and chair of the Art Committee.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter Claire (Terrance) Martin of Springfield, Illinois; son Paul (Debra) Fuller, Jr. of Bailey, Colorado; grandson Timothy Martin of Fort Collins, Colorado; granddaughter Sara Muir and great-granddaughter Abbey Raymer of Honolulu, Hawaii; and niece Deborah (Neil) Phillips of Midlothian, Texas.

A private service will be held at a later date.
