Marian Audrey Kline Donaldson, 90, from Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away on September 30, 2024. Marian was born in Flint, Michigan on July 22, 1934. She graduated with honors from high school and went on to study at the University of Miami. Marian had a long career in banking, until her retirement in 1996.
Between college and her retirement, Marian fell in love, married, Daniel (deceased in 2012), and had three sons. Her parents Wilbert H. and Prudence D. Kline, and sisters Vivian and Carol predeceased Marian. Marian was close to her children, Steve and his partner Jim living in South Carolina, and Scott and his wife Janice from Houston, Texas. She loved her dogs over the years. Gigi survives her and was adopted by loving friends when she was no longer able to care for her. Those cherished friends made sure Marian continued to see Gigi, which was some of the best therapy and medicine for her over the past two years. She is also survived by her son Keith, siring her only grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her favorite hobbies and activities included, singing, travel, pinochle, the arts, her church, and spending time with family and friends. If you knew Marian, you would know she was a champion of life, accomplishing so much with so little. She was selfless as a mother, a devoted friend, and a servant of God.
A celebration of life and memorial service for family and friends will be held at 3:30 p.m. on October 3, 2024, at Westminster Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
