Marion A. VanZalen

VAN ZALEN – Marion Alice (Timmers) Van Zalen, born February 27, 1928, transitioned to her heavenly home on June 6, 2022.  She was married to Andrew John Van Zalen in 1948. Together they raised four children and had lots of adventures together.  She worked for years as the school secretary at Unity Christian High School.  After retirement she and Andy volunteered around the country for CRWRC and RVICs as well as Cary Christian Center and many other places.  She was an avid quilter and baker and welcomed all who crossed her path.  

She is survived by her children, Bonnie Van Drie, Dan and Karen Van Zalen, Ruth and John Hoekwater, Shirley and Dave Mannes. Marion is survived by 11 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren as well as brothers and sisters in law and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Andrew John Van Zalen and granddaughter, Annie Renee Hoekwater. Well done thou good and faithful servant!  

A memorial service/celebration of life will be held at Messiah Christian Reformed Church in Hudsonville, MI on Friday, June 17 2022 at 3pm.  Visitation will take place from 1-3pm that same afternoon just prior to the memorial service.
