Mark Alan Stocking age 64 of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away on April 19, 2025, after a short illness. Mark was born on November 6, 1960, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he attended Creston High School and graduated in 1978. Mark worked as a butcher at Vogel’s Market and Meijer for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and wife. Mark had a love for hunting, all sports, outdoors and spending time up north. Most of all Mark had a passion for helping others. He was known for his gift of gab and had the ability to carry on a conversation with anyone who would cross his path.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Caroline Stocking, Mother and father-in-law Norbert and Virginia Landino, Brother-in-law Richard Landino, Niece Penny Stocking and nephew and Godchild Steven Landino.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Judy and his three children Daniel, Stacy (Ha) Truong, and Brian. Mark leaves behind his two grandchildren he adored Lily and Cameron Truong, along with his six siblings Connie (Ron) Brown, Debbie (Chris) Brechting, Bill (Ann) Stocking, Lori (Ron) Garcia, Brenda Landino and Amy Stocking. Mark is also survived by many brothers’ and sister’s in-law, Marty (Colleen) Landino, Larry Landino, Bob (Liz) Landino, Doug (Mary) Landino, Janet Landino (John Kamsickas), Joe (Julie) Landino and Linda Meyle.
A memorial mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday April 29, 2025 at St. Jude Catholic Church, located at 1120 4 Mile Road, Grand Rapids Michigan 49525 at 11am. Family will welcome guests one hour prior to mass.
The family would like to thank the nurses and the doctors at Corewell Health for the care they gave Mark while he was in the hospital.
