Mark Kevin Wolkow left this earth unexpectedly Friday, January 20, 2023. Mark was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on June 5, 1954 to Anthony and Claire Wolkow, the youngest of three siblings. He was a graduate of Kenowa Hills High School. He furthered his education at the University of Detroit’s School of Architecture where he received a Bachelors of Science in 1980. He also became a Licensed Builder in 1996. Mark was a consultant for many companies, to name a few, Newhof & Winer, The Design Forum, Timberland Building & Developing and The Architectural Group Inc. Mark founded Wolkow Associates in 1982 and made the decision to become self-employed as a successful entrepreneur. His list of accomplishments throughout his career is extensive. Mark had many hobbies; his love of music gave him the desire to become a self- taught guitar player. He also enjoyed playing Chess and Golf, as well as a love of Photography, just to name a few and many others. He loved watching all sports especially The Detroit Red Wings. Mark was an extremely intelligent man with a great sense of humor. As a confirmed bachelor, he had a deep sense of family.
Mark is preceded in death by his father Anthony Sr., his mother Claire and his brother Anthony Jr. He is survived by his only sister, Michele (Wolkow) Graham and her husband, Reginald (Tex) Graham. He also leaves behind his nephew, Nathan (Katherine) Wolkow of Downers Grove Illinois, niece, Amity Wolkow, sister- in-law, Nancy, great nieces and nephews; Hayden, Gwendolyn, George, Conner and Grace. Remaining true to Mark’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life to honor Mark’s life will be held on Saturday March 25, 2023 at Candle Stone Golf and Resort located at 8100 Storey Road, Belding, Michigan 48809 starting at Noon.
