Marshall Rowland Haney

Marshall Rowland "Rolly" Haney passed away on February 8, 2025, in Wyoming, Michigan, at the age of 95. Born on September 14, 1929, in Muskegon, Michigan, Rolly lived a long and meaningful life.

Rolly was the beloved spouse of Burnadette, "Burnie" who passed on 11/6/24.  They were married for 74 years, sharing a lifetime of love and devotion. They were cherished parents to four children: Marshall (Kathy) Haney, Pamela (Mark) Johnson, Heather Dalecke and her special friend Bryan Brower, and Cynthia (Mark) Lannon. Their legacy continues through thirteen grandchildren—Jason (Elaine) Haney, Jeremy (Andrea) Haney, Dan (Jordan) Hauser, Dave (Maggie) Hauser, Mike Hauser, Kyle (Jeff) King, Kelly Johnson, Nicholas Dalecke and Cheyenne Petersen, Courtney (Damir) Mujic, Kirk (Sarah) Lannon,  Michaela Lannon, Keith Lannon, and Ryan (Allison) Lannon—as well as thirteen great-grandchildren. Rolly was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes (Westin) and Marshall Haney, his sister Nancy DeVries and his sister Barbara and her husband Ken Dominiak.  

As a Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and friend, he was one who loved telling stories about his friends and family life over the years. With his great recall and his love to talk, this was a natural trait. Rolly was a person of faith and found spiritual community at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Rolly and Burnadette were church members for more than 75 years and remained active as long as they could.

Marshall's (Rolly's) family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice and MediLodge of Wyoming for their care, in their last few years.  
 

There will be a service to remember both Marshall and Burnadette on May 17, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 47 Jefferson Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Camp Henry in Newaygo, MI through Westminster Presbyterian Church.  Rolly attended a week at Camp Henry, the first year in Camp Henry's history, in 1937. All of Camp Henry's activities have always been a treasured part of the lives of Rolly and Burnadette, encouraging their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren's involvement as well.
