Mary Jane Butcher passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025 at the age of 86. She was born in Cadillac to the late Charles and Lucille Wells on April 26, 1938. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Sherry (Dan) Wojczynski, Kathy (Larry Armstrong) Butcher, Marianne (Terry) Amidon, grandchildren Stacey Wood, Linsey Wood, Devyn (Patrick) Fase, Matthew (Ashley) Rector, Joseph (Ashley) Rector, Richelle Anderson, Jessica (Jake) Grim, Dakota Rocco, Joshua (Chloe) Rocco, great-grandchildren Kevin, Hayli, Austin, Wesson, River, Rhett, Paisley, Reylynn, Collyns, Hazel, Beckett, Rowan, Lennyn, and an unborn great-grandson who will be named Keegan, many step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers Donald (Dixie) Wells and Robert Wells. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Douglas and her sister Gladys Dwyer.
Mary was very creative and talented. She enjoyed decorating her home and surrounding herself with beauty. She loved reading, crosswords, painting, tatting, her crochet club, Hallmark and Disney movies, traveling and golfing with Doug, and taking trips to the casino. She was loving, sassy, and silly and made us laugh all the time. She taught her grandkids and great-grands her “special language.” She enjoyed visiting with friends and most of all loved being with her family.
According to her wishes cremation has taken place and a service honoring her life will be held at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church at a later date.
