Mary Jensen

Mary Rose Jensen, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on May 17, 1949, Mary lived a life filled with creativity, warmth, and a deep love for family, friends, and nature.

Mary was the cherished mother of Richard “Rich” Jensen, Kristine “Kristi” Jensen, and Randy Jensen. She was a proud grandmother to Alyson Jensen, Sofia Jensen, and Drey Jensen, who brought immense joy to her life. Her love for her family was boundless, and she found true happiness in spending time with them.

A woman of many passions, Mary had a deep appreciation for nature, with a special fondness for dogs, birds, the beach, and the beauty of the outdoors. She was a devoted fan of the Detroit Red Wings, cheering on her favorite hockey team with enthusiasm. Mary was an avid reader and a movie lover, often finding joy in the simple pleasures of curling up with a good book or film. She enjoyed cooking, golfing, and drawing, channeling her creativity and zest for life into her hobbies.

Professionally, Mary worked as a graphic arts specialist at Modern Imaging, and later in sales and marketing at Meijer. Her talents were not confined to the office; as a bartender, she became a source of friendship and an unofficial therapist to many, always offering a listening ear and kind words.

Mary’s legacy is one of love, generosity, and laughter. She touched the lives of everyone she met and will be remembered for her warmth and compassion. She is survived by her children and grandchildren, who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

Services will be held at Memorial Alternatives 2432 Fuller Ave NE on Thursday September 26th at 11:00am.  Mary’s family will greet family and friends prior to the service from 10:00am - 11:00am

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at Boulder Creek Golf Club & Restaurant at 5750 Brewer Ave NE in Belmont on Thursday Sept 26th at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Humane Society of West Michigan in Mary’s memory.
