Mary Katheryn (Collar) McLean

Mary Kathryn (Collar) McLean passed away on May 25, 2025 at the age of 92.

She is pre-deceased in death by her brothers Austin and Elmer Collar, husband James E. McLean, daughter Debra (McLean) Alkema and son Steven McLean.

Following graduation from the former Central High School, Mary worked as a secretary at Grand Rapids Board of Education- ending her work there as secretary to the Assistant Superintendent of Schools. After marriage in 1952 and five children, she worked for 18 years as a secretary at Northview Public Schools.

She was a devoted mother, grandma, and great grandma.

Mary is survived by her children Tom and Kim McLean, Jim (Jay) McLean and Linda Ranney, Chris and Karen Yost, daughter-in-law Jan McLean, son-in-law, Scott and Heather Alkema, grandchildren, Trina and Jeremy Westfield, Ryan and Monica McLean, Jessica Brown, Matthew and Nichole Alkema, Melissa and David Haagsma, Tara and Justin Sherrod, Paige and Zach Denton, Josh and Amber McLean, Megan and Joe Tenbusch, Haley and Zach Porter, Madison and Austin Townsend, 27 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

According to Mary's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will take place.
