It is with deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Mary Eva Sanchez who entered eternal life on Friday October 17, 2025 at the age of 68. Born in Marianna, Arkansas, and raised in Florida. Mary Eva Sanchez's life was a testament to her resilience with her annual travels from Arcadia, Florida, to Coopersville, Michigan for agricultural work. In 1997 the family permanently relocated to Michigan. This demonstrated her unrelenting spirit. Mary Eva's passion for caring for others led her to become a devoted Resident Assistant, a role she cherished until her health no longer permitted. Her love for baking was a gift she generously passed on to her granddaughter, creating a lasting legacy. Mary Eva's summers were filled with joy, taking her grandchildren on unforgettable adventures to Grand Haven beach and Pronto Pup. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. A time for cherished traditions and memories decorating the tree with her grandchildren's handmade ornaments. Mary Eva found solace in second-hand stores and cooking programs. In her recent years, Mary Eva's return to her Catholic roots was a beacon of hope and inspiration, a testament to the transformative power of faith and love.
Mary Eva is survived by her beloved husband Rigoberto Calderon Zamora. Children Johnny Sanchez Jr and Zonia (Sergio) Martinez, Grandchildren Juan Francisco, Eva Zonia, Gabriel Fidencio Martínez, Dominic (Jade), Emma Grace Sanchez, Great grandchildren Ella and Micah Sanchez, Siblings Emma Martinez and Benito Sanchez. She is also survived by her in-laws Teresa Sanchez, Manuel Rivera, Ester, Rosa, Raul, Santiago, Napoleon Calderon, Along with many nieces and nephews Christina De Leon, Victoria (Brett) Banks, Patricia( Johnathan ) Kloberdanz, Veronica(Lalo) Castillo, Angela , David Jairo(Taya Elisa), Ellis Gavin, Rosa( Julio) Sanchez, Yesenia ( Rudy) Cruz, Rachel ( Adrian) Melendez, Jeremy Reséndiz, Johnny (Amy) Calderon, William Taylor, Andrea, Keila, Devin, Adam Sanchez. Cousins Katerina (Marciano) Vite, Juana (Antonio) Jimenez, Yolanda (Mauricio) Hernandez and Judy (Leandro) Romo.
She is preceded in death by her parents Pedro and Aurelia Sanchez, her brothers Hector, Pedro, Roberto, Ricardo, Adam, Daniel, sisters Eva Maria Sanchez, Lidia Galvan and a granddaughter Megan Arminia Sanchez. Mary is also preceded in death by her father in-law Fidel Calderon and mother in-law Guadalupe Zamora, Brother in-laws Ruben Calderon and Pablo Sanchez Sister in-laws Audra Taylor and Graciela Sanchez, and Nephews George Yorn and Gregory Smith
She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian burial at 11am on Saturday November 8, 2025 at St Joseph-Wright Catholic Church located at 18784 8th Ave, Conklin, MI 49403. A time of fellow ship will follow the mass.
Interment will take place at 3pm on Saturday November 8, 2025 at Coopersville Cemetery, located at 543 Cleveland ST W, Coopersville, Michigan 49404.
