Mary Tyler Obituary

Mary Kathryn Tyler, age 76, of Sand Lake, Michigan went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.She was born on July 22, 1945 to Donald and Ruth Gaberdiel.

Mary was a proud auxiliary member of the Glen Hill Post 287 American Legion. She also donated her time volunteering at the Grand Rapids Veterans Home. Her accomplishments include: Unit #287 Secretary, Treasurer, Membership, Historian, 1st Vice and Unit President. In the 5th district she was 2nd Vice, 1st Vice and 5th District Auxiliary President and she held numerous Department Chairs. She was also a member of the 8&40, where she served as Salon Demi Premier and the Chapeau. She also served as 8&40 Department Demi Deuxime, Demi Premier and Chapeau.

In her life, she was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mary survived by her daughter, Melissa Dennis and her step-daughters: Michelle Allen, April Taylor. Honorary children: Amanda and Tj Ludwick, Jerry Dennis ll, Callie Melton, Dom and Chris Merlington and their son, Robert Burmeister; her daughter-in-law, Ronda Tyler and her son-in-law’s: Troy Allen and Roger Taylor.

Mary's grandchildren include: Tara Tyler, Kami Shepard, Nick Tyler, Cassi Tyler, Kendrick Figures, Mikayla Figures, Trinity Allen, Jacob Allen, Nevaeh Berry, Corey Tyler, Roger Taylor Jr., Jake Taylor, Jacob Vander Schuur, Caleb Ludwick, Abby Ludwick, Matthew Ludwick, Kyle Pranger, Cadyn Pranger, Bobbie Ludwick, Carrie Ludwick, Naomi Dennis, Conner Dennis, as well as 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Allen Tyler. Her parents, brother, and her step-son Keith Tyler ll.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. Please include in notations: "In loving memory of Mary Kathryn Tyler ".

Please join her family to celebrate her life on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 3pm -7pm at the Glen Hill American Legion Post#287 in Cedar Springs.
