Michael Dean Shalander, aged 83, of Lowell passed away peacefully on December 16, 2021. He was reunited with his wife Susan that was the love of his life, and parents Harry and Edna Harmer. He is survived by his loving family; his daughters, Saralyn (Jay) Vezino, Amy (George ) Cook, and Allison (Todd) Mahalic; his grandchildren and great grand children that he loved with all his heart, James (Monica, Jake, Charlotte) Vezino, Tim (Elsa, Baby V arriving April 2022) Vezino, Mandy (Brian, Raelyn, Aubryn) Pfaller, Amber Cook, Alexis (Matt) Cook, Liberty Cook, Tommy (Chelsea) Mahalic, and Matt (Rachel) Mahalic; sister-in-law Linda (Rick) Durham, brother-in-law Stephen (Sue) Weiss, and several nieces and nephews.
His family would like to thank the amazing staff at Maple Ridge Manor, Interim Hospice Care, and Charmain Burke for the loving care he was given. They would also like to recognize his son-in-law Jay for providing so much care, transportation, love, and support to allow him to stay at home as long as he did, and granddaughter Amber who spent the nights with him, watching TV, having snacks, and making sure he was safe overnight while living at home.
A private service with the family will be held at a later time.
