Nancy Mercer

Nancy Marie Mercer age 75 of Fremont Mi. passed away March 18, 2023 after a courageous battle with kidney disease at Trinity Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mi. in the presence of her husband Doug and brother Phillip with wife Beth Rudolph 

Nancy was born in Grand Rapids on Dec. 29, 1947. to Richard and Helen Rudolph 

Nancy was proceeded in death by both parents and survived by her husband Doug Mercer three step children Debbra (Brian) Boonstra, Wesley Mercer, Steven Mercer (Kirsten) and eight grandchildren. Also, her brother Phillip Rudolph (Beth) daughter Sandra Lynn (Damien) Bates and two grandchildren.

Nancy attended St. James Catholic elem. in Grand Rapids and graduated from West Catholic High School in 1966. 

Nancy married the late Robert Taylor shortly after Graduation Nancy then started working for Michigan Bell Telephone co as an operator then started working in the technical machinery end of the co. as one of the first women to work at a previously "Mans" position and retired after 20 years She greatly enjoyed working with artist and belonged to "West Michigan Artist" She was a great painter, Quilter, and Glass art... She was a partner of a cruise ship operation at Grand Haven She lived on the Muskegon River for many years. She always had a dachshund dog in her life.

She married a close friend from her high school days Doug Mercer in 2004 They have enjoyed each other’s time together heavily drawing on each other for strength and during hard times. 

Nancy battled hard to survive but God decided to call her home. we will all miss her each and every day and look forward to being together one day.
