Nannette Yvonne (Dewey) Bart passed away peacefully on September 16, 2021 surrounded by her children.
Nan was born in Bellaire, Michigan on May 17, 1928 to Leon and Marvetta Dewey. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jerry, and her sister Sally Grassmid last year. Nan is survived by her children Roxanne (Gary) Dirstsine, Gary (Carla) Bart, Ken (Sue Gayan) Bart, David (Dorothy) Bart, Michael (Ranee) Bart, Mitchell (Karey) Bart, 13 Grand Children and 12 great grandchildren. Nan was also very close to her many sister and brother in laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Nan was a cancer survivor for over 55 years. After retiring from GM Trim Plant on Alpine Ave., she volunteered many years for Molly Booth Guild at Spectrum downtown working the coffee shop and the nut sales for the heart department. She also volunteered for the Cancer Society driving patients to and from their chemotherapy treatments and serving lunches with friends at Godwin Heights High School. She enjoyed her time helping people at church whether it was making meals, taking them communion, or making her famous baked beans for funeral luncheons at Holy Redeemer Parish.
A funeral Mass will be held September 22, at 11:00am at the Basilica of St. Adalbert, 654 Davis NW, Grand Rapids, Mi 49504 with the Very Reverend Ronald H. Hutchinson presiding. Relatives and friends may meet the family prior to the mass at 10:00am.
