Nora Mahoney Obituary

Nora Jean Mahoney aged 81 of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 28, 2020.

Nora is survived by her sons; Scott (Mary) Mahoney of Allendale and Brooke Mahoney of Grand Rapids, her daughter; Michelle Mahoney of Grand Rapids, her granddaughters; Krystal (Ryan) Barendse, Sarah Mahoney, Audrie (Kane) Ponder and Faith Mahoney, her great grandson; Brighton Mahoney and great granddaughter Ravenna Ponder.

Nora was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald Mahoney, her parents William and Grace Neuman and her brothers and sisters Ann Turner, Lena Trudeau, Pauline Nelson, Willis Neuman, Marion Bronkema and Gordon Neuman.

Nora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Later in life Nora went back to school to become a nurse and worked in labor and delivery, home for the blind and multiple nursing homes caring for the elderly. God placed within Nora special giftings to care for people.

Nora was strong in her faith and love for God which never seemed to waiver even when her memory began to. Nora knew the power of prayer and the importance of a relationship with God. She was a prayer partner at her church, her family was constantly in her prayers and in the last year when Nora moved to Vista Springs she would pray for her fellow residents and nightly with her care givers!

Her family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staffs of Vista Springs Riverside, Vista Springs Northview and Spectrum Health Hospice for their loving care of their Mom and Grandma. To Nora’s Church Family, Grand Rapids First and Victors’ group along with all the family and friends around the world who lifted Nora and the family up in prayer and encouragement especially over the last year, Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! God has heard your prayers! Nora is finally at home and healed!
