Oma June (Ellsworth) Werner

Oma Werner passed away on February 11, 2025 at the age of 87.  She was born in Grand Rapids on July 31, 1937 to the late Russell and Shirley Ellsworth. 

Oma will be lovingly remembered by her sister Della Murphy, sister-in-law Barbara Ellsworth, nephews Larry Murphy, Jay Ellsworth, nieces Peri (James Ager) Murphy, Deborah (Gary) Albrecht, Cynthia (Gary) DeBoer and many great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Werner, brother Grant Ellsworth and brother-in-law Ron Murphy.  

Oma worked for 30 years in various roles for Michigan Bell Company.  She enjoyed golfing, travelling to the UP, watching MSU football, taking pictures and spending time with her family and friends.  She will be greatly missed.  Special thanks to the staff at Cortland Northview for their wonderful care.   

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 2pm on Saturday February 22, 2025 at North Park Presbyterian Church, 500 North Park St. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525 with visitation one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Park Presbyterian Church or Emmanuel Hospice.
