Paula Gecho

On September 12, 2023, Paula Gecho passed away peacefully at the age of 79. Paula was the oldest of seven daughters and the mother of three children.

Throughout Paula’s life she loved to knit, crochet, and sew which produced many wonderful hats and blankets donated to hospitals for newborn babies as well as quilts for family and friends. Her sisters and her would travel to different states in search of material stores for just the right material to make that next quilt. She also loved to spend time on the water with pontoon rides on Hardy Pond or traveling to the Soo Locks to watch the ships come in and out of the locks.

Paula is preceded in death by her parents James and Marion Chamberlain, her late husband John Gecho, her son James (Jimmy) Sperry and her grandson Daniel Arney. She is survived by her two daughters Hazel Arney and Theresa Gecho, three grandchildren Timothy (Natalie) Arney, Kamaria (Cameron) Geerling, Destiny (Brandon) Cummins along with six great grandchildren and her six sisters Kathryn (Lou) Avery, Barbara Dozier, Cheryl (Kevin) Lake, Dawn (Don) Stewart, Penny Chamberlain, and Anita (Jim) Cramer, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Per Paula's wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
