Reginald S. Young, 76, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, April 5, 2018 from Parkinson’s. He was born in Normal, IL on August 1, 1941 the son of Ralph Young and Velma Johnston. On July 16, 1988 he married Mary Lou Katt and she survives him. Also surviving are three sons, Richard (Tammy), Michael (Elizabeth), and Stephen (Melissa); step-daughters Angela (Brian) Gregg and Kristina (Brian) Nuffer. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren; Austin, Justin, Valerie, Andrew, John, Scott and Christopher Young, Nathan and Jacob Gregg, and Kate and Erica Nuffer. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Kay Seefeld. His additional surviving relatives are brother-in-law Dean and nephew Todd Seefeld; sister-in law Carol (John) McNitt, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Reg retired as an accountant from Canteen Vending Service. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears fan. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 28 for 28 years.
Following Reg’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, April 14, 2018, from 1:00 till 3:00 PM pm at the American Legion Post 28, 700 S. Harbor Drive, Grand Haven, MI.
