On Sunday, November 29, 2020, Richard Campbell (Dick), a doting Husband, Father, and Grandpa went to be with the lord at the age of 76.
Dick was born on September 26, 1944 in Bay City, MI to Albert and Louise (Bauer) Campbell. He was a Vietnam Era veteran where he served in the Army and was stationed in Alaska. He retired from The Flint General Motors plant in 1993. On July 24, 2004, Dick and Peggy (Knapp) Campbell were married and he gained three sons Earl, Joshua, and Benjamin. Dick was married to Elizabeth (Norton) Campbell September 28, 1965 until her death in 2001 and they had three children Janet, James, and Daniel.
Dick was an avid hunter. He instilled a passion for hunting in his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews and taught them everything he knew. He frequently gave up his hunting spot to those who asked to hunt with him because he wanted others to experience the excitement that drew him to hunting in the first place. He also enjoyed the time he spent with his Wife Peggy in their garden and on their bowling league. He will be forever remembered for his unique sense of humor, his love for old westerns, for always putting family first, and having a big heart.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Louise Campbell, brother James, sister Mary, his first wife Elizabeth, sisters in law Sharon, Darlene, and brothers in law Bill and Max. He is survived by his Wife Peggy, his children Janet (Ron), James (Traci), Daniel (Tracy), Earl (Lisa), Joshua (Melinda), Benjamin (Christina), a bonus daughter Hannah, 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, brothers Dan, Dave, Roger, Chuck (Judy), and sisters Hazel, Rose (Bernie), and Ann (Ken). A celebration of life for Dick will be held at an undetermined date and place in the summer of 2021 due to the concerns of the coronavirus pandemic.
