Rick passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Rick had family and friends keeping him comfortable and reminiscing of better times at the end of a short illness.
Rick was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was a graduate of Grand Rapids Central High School. He was a lifelong musician, playing guitar throughout Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York and Texas. Rick was also a business entrepreneur. He was also an avid golfer and wood carver.
Preceded in death by his father Richard Eyk, his mother Mary Maxine (Rakowski) Eyk. Rick is survived by his daughter Emily and his siblings, sister Mary (Tom) Jeakle, brother Tom, sister Eileen (Glenn) Domagalski, brother Paul (Karen), brother Patrick and brother Jack. Nieces and nephews, Jonathan (Tasha), Sam (Caitlin), Grace, Sarah (Mike), Michael and Jack along with many great nieces and nephews.
We want to thank Rick’s longtime friend and bandmate Tim (Janet) Egger who was always there for Rick through thick and thin, right up to the end.
In accordance with Rick’s wishes he was cremated and will be laid to rest with his parents. There will be a private service scheduled at a later date.
