Richard Lewis Hildebrand II

Richard Lewis Hildebrand II, of Coloma, passed away on Tuesday March 14th, 2023, surrounded by his family. 

Rick was born on February 15, 1978 in St. Joseph, MI. He graduated from New Buffalo High School and Ferris State University with degrees in Professional Golf Management and Business Administration. He was a golf professional at numerous golf courses spending the majority of his career at Point O’ Woods in Benton Harbor, MI. He then worked at Regal Finishing in Coloma, MI and rose to Quality Control Manager. Rick’s passion in life was golf. He coached golf at Berrien Springs High School and played as often as he could. Anyone who played with him benefited from his expertise and experience. If he was not on the course, he was at the beach enjoying the waters of Lake Michigan and collecting beach glass. He fought colon cancer for 7 years with grit and grace and amazed all who knew him with his unending strength and perseverance.

Rick is preceded in death by his father Richard and brother Douglas. He is survived by his fiancé Teresa Aviles; mother Kathleen; sister Marla (Jay) Deist; brother Christopher (Erin); twin sister Krista (Kevin) Forker; and nieces and nephews Carrington and Dean Deist and Logan and Cambrie Forker. A mass will be dedicated in his memory on May 21st at 11:00am at St. Mary’s of the Lake Parish, 718 W. Buffalo St, New Buffalo, MI. Following the mass, the family will host a celebration of life gathering from 1- 4:30pm at the New Buffalo Yacht Club, 500 W.
