Rita Ammon

Rita E. Ammon age 89 of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away peacefully on November 1, 2024 surrounded by family and friends.

Rita was born in Ludington, Michigan to Irvin and Leona (Vielhaber) Kutchey, the fourth of six children. When she was in the first grade, the family moved to Lowell, Michigan. She was a High School cheerleader and part of the singing group on the Lowell Showboat; graduating Lowell High School class of 1953. In 1980 she married Sid Ammon, the love of her life. Rita was an excellent cook and an avid gardener.

Rita is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Marian Schneider, Dolores Alexander, Rosemary Summers, Genevieve Baldwin, her brother Tom (Rose) Kutchey; and three infant grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Sid; children Dan (Lin) Faulkner, Roger (Betsy) Faulkner, Ralph (Jodie) Faulkner, Theresa Phelps, Janet (Chad) Taylor, along with twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A celebration of Rita’s life will be held on Saturday December 7, 2024 from 1pm to 4pm at her son’s home located 1480 Springhouse Drive NE Grand Rapids Michigan 49525.
