Robert Clare Barber II, age 65, passed away into the arms of the Lord on April 28, 2019. After a long battle with cancer, Bob passed peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert C. Barber, and his mother, Nancy L. Barber (Blum) and younger brother Daniel R. Barber. He will be greatly missed by his son, Robert Barber III, and beloved grandson, Robert “Bo” Barber IV. He is survived by his five siblings, Joanne (James) Dykstra, Carol (Bruce) Anderson, Nancy (Brian) Vandenberg, Elizabeth (Dennis) Kissinger, MaryElla Barber, Terri (James) Kissinger, and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was a man of many talents, and had a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, which led to his talent of taxidermy. He spent more than ten years helping many people as a substance abuse counselor at a facility in Fremont, MI. One of the true joys of Bob’s life was the time he spent with his grandson, Bo Barber. He was dearly loved by many, and was a man of faith. He will be remembered for his great conversation, his cheerful, booming voice, his love of the Lord, and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
