Robert C. Durham

Robert C. Durham, aged 90 of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026.  He was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 25, 1936 son of Martha and Luther Durham.  He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Virginia Shemko. 

Robert is survived by his wife Janet, daughters Martha and Karen, brother Edward, Grandson Isaac and his wife Rachelle, great grandsons Felix and Miles and several nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Pershing High School and Wayne State University. Bob met his future wife Janet at a high school friend's party.  They were married in 1958 and later moved to Grand Rapids.

Bob was a stockbroker for many years at Merrill Lynch and WC Roney.  He was a Past Master of the Masons and a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He was also a long time Friend of Bill W.

Bob loved history, geography, maps, old movies, cooking, Detroit Tigers and Red Wings.  Many family vacations were to Civil War battlefields, national parks and amusement parks. He enjoyed visiting family and friends in Detroit and Tennessee.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and loyal friend.
