Robert Donovan Green

Mr. Robert (“Donovan”) Donovan Green Sr., age 84, of Grand Rapids passed away on the morning of Monday, May 17, 2021. Surrounded by family, Donovan passed of natural causes at St. Mary’s hospital.

Born in 1936 in Grand Rapids, Donovan enjoyed learning and held several undergraduate educational degrees as well as a Masters. A lifelong Mason, Donovan’s additional interests included spending time with family and friends, traveling when possible, and good conversation. He also held a great affinity for the written word and an avid appreciation of fine automobiles.

Donovan was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Rhoda Sandra Green (nee Guthrie) and his mother Lola Dallas Norman Green. Surviving Donovan to celebrate his memory are his son, Robert Donovan (Barbara) Green II; daughter, Catherine Anne (Ted Walker) Grear; grandchildren, Raymond Cobern, Sarah Elizabeth, Patrick Donovan and Nathan Ryan Green, Kayla Nicole Grear and Danielle Elizabeth Walker, along with great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and his very special friends, Helen (Ray, 1926-2011) Gill, Pattie Boyd Holton, and Ron Shippy.
