 We celebrate the vibrant life of Robert Gary Huber Sr., who entered the world on April 8, 1939, and — after 87 years of doing things entirely on his own terms — passed away on June 5, 2026. Robert was a man who truly lived big and loved even bigger. Possessing a huge, magnetic personality, he could light up a room simply by walking into it, and he never wasted a single day finding out what life had to offer.

 As a natural-born salesman, Robert never met a stranger — though many a stranger probably felt like they'd known him for years before they could get a word in edgewise. He mastered the art of connection and valued genuine relationships above all else. His life was made infinitely richer by his devoted, lifelong friends Ed Hood and Mike O'Brien, as well as all the great friends who passed along the way. Together, they shared decades of laughter, tall tales, and what could generously be called "extensive research" into happy hours across the area. Robert was a master storyteller and a generous mentor whose impactful advice guided countless people — whether they asked for it or not.

 Yet nothing made him prouder than the family he built. He shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Judith Kathryn (Fink) Huber, which is a testament to deep and abiding love, and remarkable patience on Judith's part. His children were his entire world. He never missed a chance to cheer them on from the sidelines. He was the anchor of cherished family traditions that will be passed down for generations. Many of those core memories were made right in his own backyard, where Robert maintained his swimming pool to a standard that could only be described as a personal calling. That water was crystal clear, and don't think for a second he didn't want you to notice. His dedication to sports led him to found the Comstock Park Boosters Club, a lasting community legacy he was profoundly proud of. Robert was also a proud member of the American Legion Post 47 — his favorite spot to trade stories, raise a glass, and hold court with good friends who knew better than to interrupt a good story.

 As we gather to celebrate the overflowing life of Robert Huber, it is easy to honor a man who was a friend to everyone he met, who brought light and laughter into every room he walked into, and who almost certainly had a story ready for whatever the occasion called for. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Robert cherished every moment with his family and was a powerful role model — proof that a life lived with personality, generosity, and a full glass is a life well worth living.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at his home post, the American Legion Post 47 (3811 W. River Drive, Comstock Park), to share stories, share a laugh, and toast to a life exceptionally well-lived. In his memory, donations may be directed to the Comstock Park Boosters Club.
