Robert (Dave) Carr Obituary

Robert William Carr, known as Dave, was born in Grand Rapids to James and Caroline-Woodward Carr.  He was one of 10 children. He died peacefully at the home he built that had been the site of his parents home where he grew up. Dave loved the Lord and felt Him by his side while still on earth. We have the assurance that he is now in heaven with Jesus.

After high school,  Dave joined the army and served in Germany. In 1974 he married his wife Lois,  a mother of 5 children. They later had a son,  Robert William Carr Jr.

Dave worked primarily in construction and building maintenance. It seemed he knew no strangers. He was easy going and jovial.  He loved making people laugh, especially children.

He will be remembered for his love of babies, bouncing them on his knee, making silly faces and sounds to make them giggle. There wasn't a baby he couldn't charm. Dave was known for his kind heart and generous spirit.

Cribbage was his game of choice, but he never turned down a card game. He was an avid viewer of Fox news.

Preceded in death by:  Angel Carr, his stillborn daughter from his first marriage, both his parents and 8 siblings, step daughter Lorelei Wartella-Aldridge.

Survived by:  his wife Lois Luepnitz-Carr, youngest sister Sherry (Tom) Vanderplow, son Robert (Tiffany)Carr,  the Wartella step children, Debra (Bob)Parkinson, Valorie (Bill)Triemstra, Patricia(Faramarz)Simab, Rudolph(Hyeryun) Wartella,14 grand children and 8 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
