Roger Taylor Obituary

In loving Memory of Roger W. Taylor who went home to be with his lord and savior on December 29, 2025, surrounded by his family.  Roger was born in Belding, MI at the Belding Hospital to George & Nellie (Ulis) Taylor on September 19, 1945, he was 80-year-old.

He was married to Penny (Reese) Taylor of Greenville, MI. on April 5,1994.

Retired SFC. E-7 Roger Taylor spent 4 years as a Marine, 18 years in the Michigan Army National Guard where he earned a National Defense Service Metal, Rifle Expert Badge and a Good Conduct Metal. 

He also worked for 25 years as a corrections officer for the State of Michigan (Retired).

He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife Penny Taylor of Belding, son Kirk Taylor of Greenville, daughter Victoria (Sean) Hart of Belding, son Jason Cooper of Belding and his brother Ken Taylor of Belding, grandchildren Brittnee Hart, Draven Taylor, Kole (Kelli) Hart, Kara Taylor, and Riley Hart as well as 2 great granddaughters, and many other loving family members.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents George & Nellie Taylor, mother-in-law Beulah Brock, his sister Carol Taylor, brother Terry Taylor, brother-in-law Jim Reese, sister-in-law Dawn Reese and sister-in-law Betty Soule.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1pm to 3pm at the VFW Post 4406 of Belding located at 114 N Bridge St, Belding, MI 48809 on January 18, 2026.

Pastor Abberger will be speaking along with Jason Cooper.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Belding VFW or The Freedom Wall aka Denny Craycraft Veterans Freedom Park.
