Roy DeHamer Obituary

Roy DeHamer was called Home to Heaven in the early morning hour of March 29, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. He was guided by the Angels and has seen the Face of God.

He is now completely restored by his Savior and no longer suffers.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents John & Ann DeHamer & his brother Pete DeHamer.

The Spirit of Joy that Roy lived on this earth was Amazing and a credit to his deep Faith in God, Love for his Family and Dedication and Service to his Country.

His childhood years were spent growing up in Grandville on his parents/grandparent’s farm where he learned strong work ethics from a very early age.

Roy served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
He earned an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Davenport College after the War.

Roy was a successful Realtor for over 5 decades in the West Michigan area. He was an amazing Salesperson!
His poor health forced him to retire in his 80's but he always managed to dabble and keep up with the real estate market.

His love of planes and flying never left him from being in the Air Force, so EAA in Oshkosh Wisconsin was a yearly family vacation for over 30+ years.

He also loved camping, yearly cruises and spending lots of time with his family & friends.

Roy's smile was contagious! His sense of humor with great stories were endearing to all those that loved him, especially his grandchildren.

Roy leaves behind the love of his life Sandie, his Wife and Best Friend of 43 years, his Children Dave (Deb) DeHamer with his Grandchildren Sarah, Rebekah, Esther & Nate; Dan (Ruth) DeHamer with his Grandchildren Alyssa, Ben & Ashley; Heather (Scott) Horst with his Grandchildren Emily, Sarah & Nathan; Aaron Harper (Grand dog Remi) and Josh (Meagan) Harper with Grandbaby Ava along with his Great Grandchildren.
