Sally will be deeply missed by her children: Scott (Jan) Datema, Bruce (Sue) Datema, Diane (Mike) Kasparek; grandchildren: Alexis (Cody) Perry, Randy Datema; Austin (Kayeleigh), Chad (Taylor) and Lauren Wirt; Brenden, Cade (Amaya) and Nolan Datema; Allison (Buddy) O’Malley, Andrew (Kaelyn), Megan and Katelyn Kasparek; great-grandchildren Rhett, Jensen, and Sutton Perry, and Scarlett Gilman; sister-in-law Kathy Datema, brothers-in-law Roger Hurley, Lonnie and Dan Datema, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Sally was a 1960 graduate of Godwin Heights High School. After graduation, Sally worked as a secretary, a stay-at-home mom and then many years at Oven Fresh Bakery until she retired. Although Sally had many hobbies throughout the years, her favorite hobby was watching her kids and grandkids activities. Whether it was basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, hockey, soccer, cheerleading or band concert, you could look into the stands and know that mom and dad, grandma and grandpa were there to be your biggest fans.
Per Sally’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life for family and friends will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Sally’s name to Interim Hospice Grand Rapids.
