Sharon Lynn (Burkhart) Nickelson

Sharon Nickelson age 71 of Walker, Michigan went home to her Lord and Savior on July 14, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents Lee and Maryanne Walker, her brother Christopher Walker, her daughter Lisa Nickelson and her grand-daughter Brittney MacLeod.

Sharon leaves behind her loving husband of fifty-five years Robert Nickelson Sr. and her four children Melissa (Charles) Redner, Robert Jr. (Stacy) Nickelson, Katy (Andrew) Hindenach, and David (Amber) Nickelson. She is survived by many grandchildren Cory (Ashley) Deglopper, Amber (Josh) Westfall, Christopher (Carrie) Nickelson, Felica (David) Redner, Nicole (Josh) Buikema, Stephanie Nickelson, Angela (Anthony) Lee, Heather (Donald) Redner, Andrew (Kayleigh) MacLeod, Brendan (Madison) Nickelson, Aaron (Amanda) Nickelson, Jordyn (Lucas) Johnson, Shawn MacLeod, Maxxwell Nickelson, Eli Nickelson, and Temperance Hindenach. Sharon is also survived by twenty great-grandchildren and one who is on its way and one great-great-grandchild. She leaves behind one brother, one sister and many nieces and nephews. 

Sharon was an amazing wife to Robert and fantastic mother to her children. Over the years she spent much of her time volunteering at Southwest Little League and even served as board President for a short time. She always loved spending time with her family, whether it was at sporting events or just spending time at home with her loved ones. Sharon was an avid reader and enjoyed a variety of books over the years. She was also a huge NASCAR fan; her favorite driver of all time was Kyle Petty. Sharon had several TV programs that she enjoyedand she never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy. Sharon enjoyed spending time outside relaxing withRobert and watching him feed their “pet” squirrels. In the summer months Sharon loved to spend time relaxing on the lakeshore at the Grand Haven Pier.

Sharon will truly be missed by her family and friends. A visitation will be held on Thursday July 21, 2022 at Memorial Alternatives located at 2432 Fuller Ave NE Grand Rapids Michigan 49505 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm.
