Sharon Spencer (Wright) Obituary

Sharon Elaine Spencer (Wright, Wilder), age 82, peacefully began her journey home to heaven to be with her savior, Jesus Christ, on March 21st 2025 surrounded by loving family members.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Susan (Patrick) Doty, her son Steven Wright, her grandchildren Amanda Doty, Kenneth and Matthew Wright, seven great-grandchildren, one great great grandson, and several nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Arlo and Beatrice Wilder, her brother David Wilder, her husband Donald Spencer, and her two grandsons, Patrick and Jeremy Doty.

Sharon was raised in the Grand Rapids area and helped out at the motel her father built in Standale Michigan, Lincoln Lawns Motel.

After graduating from Union High School she married James Wright and had two children. She lived in the Standale area working at Meijer Warehouse cafeteria and then at the Kenowa Hills Schools administrative offices.

Later in life she enjoyed many activities at the AmVets post 1988 in Baldwin Michigan where she met Donald Spencer. She and Don were married and lived on the Baldwin River in Baldwin Michigan during the Summers and spent Winters in Arcadia Florida.

Sharon loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed her grandchildren while fishing and making gingerbread houses around Christmas time along with many other activities.

Sharon also loved to travel with her mother, Betty, to England, Alaska, and California. Her hobbies included bowling, ceramics, fishing, and camping with family and friends.

Her last year of life she resided at Newaygo Medical Care Facility, in Fremont Michigan, where she enjoyed many activities and made many friends with other residents and staff members.

Sharon's wishes were to be cremated and have her remains spread, along with Donald's remains, near her former home on the Baldwin River. She requested no service but to just fondly remember the times you spent with her and the many memories you shared.

She will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
