With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Stanley Jolink, who passed away peacefully at home on November 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with COPD.
Born on March 23, 1956, Stan was the youngest son of the late Henry and Susie Jolink. He graduated from Fremont High School in 1974 and soon began working as a sawyer. His strong work ethic, steady hands, and deep knowledge of his craft earned him the respect and friendship of many throughout his lifelong career, which continued until his retirement in 2016. Stan’s skill and care could be seen in the many picnic tables he built for the family he loved so dearly.
In 1977, Stan married the love of his life, Kim (Nielsen) Jolink. Over their 48 years together, they built a beautiful life and raised three children who were the pride and joy of his heart. Stan’s devotion to his family created countless cherished memories and a home filled with love.
Stan had many passions in life. His children will tell you that his love of music was among the greatest—something he joyfully shared with them through the many concerts they attended together. He was also a devoted NASCAR fan, never missing a race if he could help it. In his younger years, he enjoyed golfing, playing pool, and bowling. Above all, Stan’s greatest joy came from spending time with his children and grandchildren, who brought endless light to his life.
He is survived by his wife Kim Jolink, who was his best friend; children Sarah (Pete) Wood of Greenville, Kyle (Megan) Jolink of Alma, and Julie Jolink of Sparta; his grandchildren Austin Jolink, Melanie Swanson, Hunter Jolink, Jayden Parker, Addysen Carr, Tavin Thomas, Paislee Thomas, and Emma Wood; his sister Janice Knox, Margaret (Warren) Smith;; his brothers Terry (Carol) Jolink and Roger (Kathi) Jolink; several nieces and nephews; and two longtime family friends, Steve Quay and Bill Sturdavant.
He is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Susie Jolink; brothers Lynn Jolink and Larry Jolink; sisters-in-law Joyce Jolink, Judy Jolink; and brother-in-law Gayle Knox; three friends, Robert Peacock, Ron Clark, Steve (Yankee) Johnson who people lovingly referred to as the four stooges.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
